top look

I actually don't like Mischa Barton, she hasn't done anything impressive since the O.C which was the best tv serial ever, but as someone once said if she were to be given a penny for every photo she has been taken she will already be millionaire. All in all I love this look.

summer of the maxi dress

Without doubt one of this summer's must-have is the maxi dress. A hot trend that took over the runways or impressed celebrities such as Nicole Richie, Eva Mendez, Paris Hilton, Rachel Bilson etc. It's just perfect for the hottest summer days or for those of you who have some extra pounds; it goes for pregnant women also ( Angelina Jolie is a future mother that knows how to rock a maxi dress on each occasion) .

Tips:
  • wear a cardigan or scarves with your maxi dress to keep you warm on cold summer nights;
  • wear headbands for a boho-chic look;
  • for a night look add some big accessories
  • wear a belt over you maxi dress to accentuate your waist;
  • Go buy the maxi dress! ;)

sweet nothings

Everyone is in love with being in love, they forget about who they're actually "falling in love with". Stop forcing yourself to fall in love with people you barely know. If the right person comes along you won't have to try, everything will just fall into place. And it's ok to be a little lonely for now, it'll all be worth it in the end.

until we bleed by the girl who tamed the tiger.

couture by the girl who tamed the tiger.

she was lo, plain lo, in the morning, standing four feet ten in one sock by the girl who tamed the tiger.

NO smoking

Two things I love most: fashion and babies. Well, in this case it's a doll. although I wish it were a real baby. Lily Donaldson looks gorgeous as a caring mother.

theSHOEarchitect

The other day I saw a show about Mihai Albu, a Romanian fashion designer, in fact a shoes designer. I'm very keen on his latest collection because the shoes are so much fun. Also I don't know why I haven't thought of "advertising" him before as I am such a shoes addicted and more than half of my posts are about shoes (maybe this blog should have another name, I ought to give it a serious thought).
He is surnamed "the shoe architect" and naturally you can see why. For more Mihai Albu go here.

no stress

My exams are finally over and now I'm just waiting for the results but I have the feeling that everything is going to be ok, because "if it's not ok, it's not the end". I have the rest of the week free, just for myself and then the next 2 weeks back again to studying. Tomorrow is swimming pool time, I just hope the weather it will be by our side.

14 Summer Fashion and Beauty Essentials

1. A One-Piece Swimsuit. After years of itsy-bitsy bikinis, the one-piece is back on the swimsuit scene. Look for intense colors and strategically sliced cutouts to highlight your body's best feature.

2. Glimmery Makeup.Unlike opaque makeup for winter, the sheer iridescence for summer is easy to apply—and feels light on the skin.

3. Big Earrings shoulder-grazing earrings, like the salad-plate-size hoops seen at Louis Vuitton, take courage to carry off, but the payoff is as big as...well, the earrings. Just keep everything else you wear simple to avoid tipping the look from crazy good to just plain crazy.

4. A Slouchy Hat. Hats were not just one of the hottest recent runway trends, they serve a purpose come summer: Protecting your skin, scalp, and hair from sun damage. Choose either a simple canvas crusher or a dramatic floppy hat circa 1960; be sure it's tan or beige (nothing too dark); and make sure it fits. If the hat sits too high on the forehead, it will look too Mad Hatter; too big, and it falls over the eyes, sloppy and impractical.

5. A Light Scent.This summer's best new perfumes smell like...summer.

6. Power Block. Not all sunscreens are created equal—some break down in as little as an hour. Make sure to use one containing Helioplex, Mexoryl-they last four to five hours.

7. Wire Shades. Forget bug-eye plastic sunglasses. This summer, we're reaching for more sophisticated wire-rim aviators that extend from the brow bone to the cheekbone. The color of the frames is your choice (we love gold), but the lenses are not negotiable: make sure they're polarized, because there's nothing chic about crow's-feet.

8. A High Ponytail. This summer's ponytail is high, tight, and very shiny. Slick just the top four or five inches of hair against the scalp with a glossing spray or serum because they contain UV filters. Insert the elastic nice and high at the back of the head and let the ponytail go wild and product-free.

9. A Berry Lip Stain. Unlike glosses, stains offer sheer color that stays put, despite the high temperatures and humidity. And the shade on every beauty editor's lips right now—juicy raspberry—happens to flatter every skin tone. To keep the effect natural, dab the color on with a finger rather than straight from the tube.

10. Big Bangles. As the weather grows warmer, the layers usually come off. But not this year, thanks to Marc Jacobs—who sent models down the Louis Vuitton runway jangling an armful of chunky bangles of varying widths, patterns, and textures. To knock off the look yourself, choose bracelets made of wood, resin, or metal (Lucite and plastic look too mod), and make sure they're an inch or two wide—hefty enough for stacking.

11. Rose-Gold Nail Polish. With its subtle pink undertones, rose-gold polish is the most-flattering of all the gilded shades—no matter if your skin is pale or spray tanned.

12. A Rubber Watch. Black and white rubber watch bands not only look crisp and sporty for summer, they're practical: water-resistant, sweat-resistant, and usually less expensive than their gold, leather, and crocodile counterparts.

13. Leather Thongs. Unlike rubber Havianas, leather thongs look as appropriate on the sidewalk as they do poolside (which is to say, no one will think you're on your way home from a pedicure).

14. Safari Shorts. Khaki shorts with rolled cuffs are the piece of clothing you'll reach for weekend after weekend this summer. Pulled on over a swimsuit, they're sexier than the usual kaftan; worn with a top and thong sandals, they're casual and cool. Choose a pair that's super-short to midthigh-length.
